Comprehensive Listing of Minnesota Department of Transportation Cameras - Last Update June 2, 2005
MN-DOT has made available to the public a large number of cameras in various parts of the state. Most of these are the Twin Cities (Minneapolis and Saint Paul) Metro Area traffic cameras. Some are traffic cameras in Duluth, Saint Cloud, and Rochester. There are also some cameras located at weather stations in rural areas. There are several different MN-DOT web sites that allow access to the various subsets of cameras. This site is the only place that provides access to all of them on one page and with a consistent interface. This site was designed to serve as a reference and alternate interface to the cameras with them listed by number. It is an ongoing project that was started on February 26, 2002.
NOTE: All the new camera installations on MN 100 are finally now working!
I have been made aware of a discussion of this site on ScanFan.com. Thanks for kind words. If anyone has some specific questions for me, please don't hessitate to email me.
Just to avoid any confusion, this is not an official MN-DOT site. See the MN-DOT section for links to several official MN-DOT sites. All information on this site comes from various public and media sources and the simple fact that the cameras themselves are in full view of the public and some even have numbers attached.
If you find this site useful - especially for commercial purposes - please consider sending me a donation. It will help put gas in the car so I can research cameras and it will keep this site available and updated. I will make custom camera group pages for anyone who makes a donation.
If you are interested in making a donation or have any questions or comments about this site, please contact me via email. Curt@Sector14.net

Non-Metro Locations
These are the metro area camera group pages.
There are many more cameras along I-394 than are listed here. I have never seen a list of them. There are roughly 3 additional cameras for each location listed here between US 169 and I-94. Most of these were originally set up as part of an experimental autoscope system. None of them are available on line.
MN-DOT also has an interface to several cameras mostly located outside the Twin-Cities. These are part of the MN-DOT RWIS SCANWeb site. They are included on this page as well. These cameras are located at remote weather stations and gaps in the numbers are locations that do not have cameras. Most of these locations are simply mile post numbers along a given highway so I have tried to determine what towns are close to them and this is noted using the words 'near' or 'between'. Location corrections for these are greatly appreciated.
